"I have had issues with my hips my whole life. As a baby I had hip displasia and even as a teen I remember having to crack my hips every morning when I woke up- it became my morning ritual to start the day.
When I became serious about my fitness 5 years ago I noticed a dramatic improvement to my hips until I started heavy lifting a couple of years after that- it became clear I had no flexibility whatsoever and constantly felt tightness through my hips and lower back which was affecting my lifting technique. I very rarely did any kind of mobility exercises due to the mentality that I would rather spend time doing some extra training than 'wasting' that time on warming up or cooling down. The extent of my mobility work was a little stretch and foam roll here and there and that was about it."
